Center Reopening Monday, June 1st at 7am
We will reopen Monday, June 1st. We have adjusted our operation time to 7 am – 5:30 pm. All adults and children 2-years of age and older entering the building will be required to wear a face covering. Once in the classroom, face coverings will be optional. Upon arrival, we will follow CDC guidance and perform daily health checks including taking temperatures. Any child with a temperature over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to stay – no exceptions will be made.
Only one parent of a Nursery Room child will be allowed to take their child to their classroom once we have completed health checks. Please limit items from home as much as possible. Please leave car seats in your vehicle.
Each classroom will consist of the same children and the same staff for the entire day. This will help prevent the mixing of germs to help prevent illness.
The pick-up will be handled the same as the arrival. For classrooms other than the Nursery, please call the office at 217-345-3111 to let us know that you are in the stairwell and a staff member will go get your child from the classroom and bring them to you. For children in the Nursery, parents must call to have temp checks before they go to the Nursery to get their child.
Please be patient during this time as we follow the ever-changing rules put in place by our Governor and DCFS. Please be expecting a phone call from Karen or Tina in the next day or two to confirm attendance.
When we reopen, we will continue to follow the established COVID-19 Response Plan.
Please continue to monitor this website and Facebook page for updates.
Charleston Community Early Learning Center has been serving the community children since 1968. We are a not-for-profit learning center dedicated to quality childcare and development – admitting children regardless of race, color, sex, nationality or religious background.
It is the mission of the Charleston Community Early Learning Center to serve Charleston and the surrounding communities by providing a developmentally appropriate early-childhood setting for children ages six-weeks through 10 years of age.
We believe that an early childhood program should provide a welcoming and secure environment that fosters mutual respect for all parties (child, parent and caregiver) and will encourage the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of each child while embracing diversity and respect for each individual’s beliefs and background.
